Abiud Torres, 20, is wanted on homicide charges, PPD told Daily Voice. He is described as 5-foot-9 and 170 pounds and is considered armed and dangerous, according to detectives.
"Tati" Vargas, 35, was shot in the face and chest while on the 3100 block of Hartville Street on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 23, Daily Voice reported.
According to her obituary, Vargas graduated from Furness High School in South Philadelphia and worked for the Nyman Association as a teacher.
She also helped out as a waitress and in the kitchen at her family's business, South Philly Italian Kitchen, loved ones said. She is survived by a son in addition to her parents and siblings.
A $20,000 reward is offered for information that leads to Abiud Torres' arrest. Anyone with information should call PPD at 215-686-8477 or submit a tip anonymously online.
